IncentiveDirect newsfeed. October 2007.

IncentiveDirect creates innovative online reward and recognition systems.
We believe that rewards are the currency of inspiration.

As you can see, we have updated the look of our newsletter this month, to match more closely the new look of the IncentiveDirect site.

/01. Project Chameleon is go.

Karma Chameleon

We're excited to announce the development of the next version of iD-points. We are currently about half-way through the process, with an expect launch-date of mid-January.

Given that iD-points is already the best online reward system available, it might seem strange to be developing a new version, but we do not believe in resting on our laurels or letting the grass grow beneath our feet. Now is the perfect time to push forward to ensure that iD-points remains the best product on the market for the forseeable future.

We have taken a long hard look at how our clients are using iD-points, looked at the type of incentive activity they are running, and the type of information and reports they want.

We have also been looking at how End Users are using the system, and ways that we can improve the user experience, offer additional ways to utilise their points, and provide tools to earn more points and resolve queries.

Finally we have looked at our own internal processes for managing accounts, orders and suppliers, and look at ways we can refine, simplify and streamline out current operation.

We've codenamed the new version Chameleon, to reflect its highly adaptable, flexible approach and ability to blend in with our clients' marketing and sales promotion activity.

Over the next few months we'll be going into more detail on the specifics of the new system, and giving previews of its features and functions. In the meantime, if there are any new features that you would desperately like to see in the new system, or things about the current system that are driving you mad, please let us know.

Damn fine coffee Calvin and Hobbes discuss language A dripping tap is a good thing

The IncentiveDirect blog is the best place to get our views and approach to motivation and incentives. Here are some recent entries:

Special Agent Dale Cooper's approach to incentives

"Everyday, once a day, give yourself a present. Two cups of good, hot, black coffee"

Motivation and the corruption of language

"Part of this convolution of English is a deliberate attempt by incentive agencies to make the subject of incentives and motivation seem more elaborate, an arcane practice with secrets known only to the sorcerous experts."

The drip-drip of motivation

"Making motivation a habit is the key to successful incentive activity. Smaller, regular rewards and communication are much more effective than big, infrequent rewards. Motivation happens via a series of small steps."

We now offer Odeon Cinema tickets on the iD-points site - in the Experiences - Cinema section.

These tickets give the recipient full admission to any Odeon or UCI cinema in the designated region. Four types of ticket are available: adult admission at all UK cinemas excluding those within the M25 region, adult admission at all UK cinemas, including those within the M25 (but excluding the central London cinemas), and corresponding children's tickets.

The tickets are valid up until July 2008, but there are no other usage restrictions. Remember, they are not vouchers or discount, they are full-value tickets, and just need to be exchanged at the box-office for entry to your chosen film.

Treat everyone to the movies today!

iPod Touch

The iPod Touch promises to revolutionise the personal audio market almost as much as the original iPod. With its intuitive touch screen interface and 3.5" widescreen display, navigating, selecting and playing music has never been easier.

But the Touch is much more than a music player. Not only can it also play video and photo albums, but its effectively a handheld computer, which can be used to connect to the Internet though its built in WiFi capabilities. This allows you to surf the web with its bult in Safari browser, purchase music in the online iTunes music store, and watch funny YouTube videos. There are also a number of games available exclusively for the iPod Touch, and a built in calendar and notes applications.

The Touch comes in 8Gb and 16Gb flavours, enough to hold thousands of songs, thousands of images, a few feature films, and hundreds of audiobooks and podcasts, as well as notes, appointments and games. Its a truly revolutionary multimedia device.

TagHeuer Formula 1 watch

Lewis Hamilton might have blown his chance for Formula 1 glory this weekend, but with Tag Heuer sponsoring Kimi Raikkonen. Hamilton and Fernando Alonso, it was always a certainty that the world champion would be sporting a Tag Heuer watch.

And know you can too, with the new Tag Heuer Formula 1 watch. Featuring all the elegant styling and technical performance you'd expect from a Tag Heuer, it'll give your wrist a touch of class.
