/01. End year tax reporting.
As we come to the end of year, a number of clients are requesting tax reports detailing their end users point redemption during the tax year.
Upon request, we can prepare a spreadsheet breaking down each users point redemption over the year, and the value of these purchases.
Clients can then use this to issue P11D benefits notices, and advise their end users as to whether the tax has been paid, or whether liability for the tax rests with the recipient.
Please note that we can not provide detailed tax advice. All rewards, irrespective of their type or source, probably constitute a taxable benefit. We believe it is prudent for the source of the reward to make a provision for a possible tax liability.
Therefore, we strongly suggest that our clients consult their Finance Department regarding issues relating to tax on rewards, as every company will have its own particular tax strategy.

/02. Project Chameleon: sneak peek 05 - Product departments
One of the new features we are implementing in the next version of the system is an update to the way we manage and group products. This will make it easier to create themed collections of products, for instance for Euro 2008, or create bespoke departments for a particular client.
It will also make it easier for clients to 'switch off' individual products - for instance to ensure that there are no products by a competing brand.
As part of this restructuring, in our backend systems we will also be able to change suppliers of a product much more easily, allowing us a greater degree of control based on price and availability and service, giving a better service to our customers.
This is all part of laying down the framework for what we are calling The IncentiveDirect Platform - more on this next month.
